The Canon MG2522 printer uses the FINE ink cartridges and produces the best quality print outputs. As it is very compact in size, the setup procedure is quite simple.

The initial hardware setup procedure includes:

  •  Unpacking

  •  Connecting the power cord

  •  Installation of ink cartridges

  •  Loading the paper

  •  Installation of the software

Let us now start with the unpacking process.

  • First, open the product packaging box and check all the components present in it.

  • Clear the box by removing all the packaging materials from it along with the Canon PIXMA MG2522 printer.

Now, turn on your printer by following the steps given below.

Turning on the printer:

  • Using the supplied power cord, connect one end of it to the back of your printer.

  • Now, connect the other end to an electrical outlet.

  • Press the ON button. The printer turns on immediately. On your printer control panel, check whether the ON button flashes green.

Let us start with the installation of the cartridges.

Loading the paper:

As your output tray supports 60 sheets of plain paper, you can load the plain paper for printing work.

  • Open the paper support of your Canon printer and then pull out the paper output tray.

  • Later, pull out the output tray extension.

  • Slide the paper guides and start loading the paper.

The Canon printer is not yet connected to your computer. To start the communication between your Canon PIXMA MG2522 printer and computer, follow the steps given below.

Installation of FINE cartridges:

  • Pull back the paper output tray and the output tray extension.

  • Open the front cover of your Canon PIXMA MG2522 printer.

  • Take the new cartridge and unwrap it.

  • Remove all the protective tapes from it.

  • Insert the FINE cartridges into the respective cartridge holders.

  • Note: Ensure that you insert the color FINE cartridge into the left slot and the black one into the right slot. Push the cartridges firmly until they fit correctly into their places.

  • Later, close the front cover.

Installation of the software:

As your printer supports a Hi-Speed USB interface, the communications are enabled through the USB connection. Let us move to the software installation process.

  • The Canon PIXMA MG2522 printer comes with the setup CD-ROM. You can insert it into the CD/DVD drive of your Windows computer.

  • Now, run the setup file and continue with the on-screen instructions.

  • You can download the software package from the manufacturer’s website.

  • Using your computer’s web browser, go to the official Canon website.

  • From the home page, navigate to the Drivers and Downloads page.

  • Click Download next to the required driver's name.

  • Locate and run the software package on your Windows computer.

  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup procedure.
